THE FREE STUDIO
AMPLIFYING THE SOUNDS OF THE UNSUNG.
The Free Studio is a resource for the community providing incarcerated youth with music education and access to professional production tools and support systems to create powerful, impactful music.
We strive to level the playing field. Our goal is to inspire the best music engineers and musically-talented individuals to be of service to underserved and underprivileged communities by applying “soul” and “science” to the urban perspective. To connect people through sound and music-- providing a safe space where the incarcerated youth can gather to express themselves, participate in workshops, seminars, education pieces; and to establish/found an annual art gala to highlight and elevate the “Hip Hop” artform.

In 2017, Audio Pictures LLC introduced “The Free Studio: Music Production 101” program in RMSC/RNDC. In 2019, Audio Pictures expanded to the crossroads and Horizons Juvenile facilities and consulted on the construction of the recording studio in RNDC’s “Peace Center.” Most recently in 2020 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic Audio Pictures launched a Remote Learning program for the incarcerated youth serving students housed at Both Horizons & Crossroads juvenile detention centers.
